The floor plate is the whole argument

Seven units to a floor. That is the number to hold on to, because almost everything people like about a building — how long you wait for a lift, how many doors you pass on the way to yours, how much corridor noise reaches your living room — comes out of the floor plate, and it is settled at construction.
